The PRAXIS Elementary Education Content Knowledge Exam is scored at a correct answer to test question ratio. That means if you do not know the answer, it is best to eliminate incorrect responses and make your best educated guess, as you will only be rewarded for correct answers and not penalized for incorrect responses.
The Reading Language Arts section of the PRAXIS Elementary Education Content Knowledge Exam will test knowledge in three subcategories, Foundations of Reading, Language in Writing, and Communication Skills (Speaking and Listening). The emphasis in each category is as follows:
The PRAXIS Elementary Education Content Knowledge Exam contains 120 multiple-choice questions. The questions are distributed amongst four subject areas including Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science. Each subject area will be the focus of approximately 25% of the exam. You can expect to answer approximately 30 questions in Reading/Language Arts, 30 questions in Mathematics, 30 questions in Social Studies, and 30 questions in Science.
