"Just Me and My Dad" is an interactive picture book based on the popular children`s book by Mercer Mayer, featuring Little Critter, one of the most beloved characters of all time.
Just Me and My Dad is a great book for young children to read with their fathers, though it can be enjoyed by anyone. The text is minimal, using just enough words and sentences to get the ideas across to young kids, as this book is intended for ages 3 and up, and will be easy for them to relate to. Simple phrases like “Dad drove the car because I’m too little” easily work for readers, especially when coupled with cute illustrations of Little Critter lugging around his bedroll and a lantern while wearing big boots, his mouse and spider buddies helping him by carrying along a little hatchet.
Dad isn’t afraid of much – not sharks, giant waves, angry dogs or crazy crabs. But there is one thing that terrifies Dad and he needs his son to help him! They will have to be heroes together.
In an age of long work hours, and high life demands for families, it is wonderful to be reminded of the simple pleasures that come when fathers and sons spend time together.
PRAISE FOR ME AND MY DAD
“This is a wonderful book for families to have to show the love between father and son, and would be useful for displays for Father's Day and for units of work on families in the classroom. It certainly deserves a place in the library.”
