Michael Fanning, a retired New York City Police Department Sgt., helps load water into a truck in Murrells Inlet, SC on Monday. Fanning, now Chief of the Pawleys Island Police Department, said the trucks are headed to St. Camillus and St. Francis Churches in Rockaway, Queens.

The Coastal Carolina Shields, a group of retired cops in Murrells Inlet, SC, loaded two trucks with food and clothing Monday and are heading to Rockaway to help victims of Hurricane Sandy. The group has about 400 members and about 75 are retired from the NYPD.
